Reading Is Fundamental's (RIF) purpose is to support and encourage reading for children of all ages. Three Rivers Kiwanis at this time provides 3 books each to each child from preschool thru 6th grade in Milo, Brownville, and Lagrange. The Kiwanis fund raises to pay for the books for approximately 500 children in our community. The Annual Variety Show is the major fundraiser for this event.

Book distributions are held 3 times per year where volunteers read to children and each child is able to choose from a broad selection of books the book that they want to take home to add to their own library. The Three Rivers Kiwanis would like to extend their gratitude to the supporters of our RIF program through the Annual Variety Show and for those who make monetary donations to support this wonderful opportunity for children to experience the joy of reading. We would especially like to thank those individuals who volunteer their time to plan book distributions and attend the distributions as volunteer readers. There is no greater joy than placing a book in a child's hands and opening their hearts and minds to the pleasure of reading.
